There's a girl across the street
But that house is not her own
She felt not wanted where she was
And ran away from home
Lucky for her, the owner
Isn't at all aware
Of the damaged soul resting in his house
He doesn't know she's there.
She creeps through the shadows
Throughout the day
Wondering where she'll go next
Which way? Which way?
The girl doesn't know that her family
Yearns to see her again
If she knew, she might have seen them
Before she met her end
For the home-owner heard her sneaking
Through the house one night
Thinking she was a wild animal
He was in for a terrible fright
When he took out his gun to shoot
He took his aim and fired
Only to later discover
The thing he shot was a child
The police showed him no mercy
In jail he lived for days
All because of a little girl
Who decided to run away

I love the capture of the circumstance
So real and understood
Words of real.....

Cool, seriously, that first stanza:
There's a girl across the street
But that house is not her own
She felt not wanted where she was
And ran away from home
that's one of my favorite reads.
I like this. Sometimes stories can be hard to grip, but there's nothing wrong with changing the mood throughout it. ^_^
^_^ Good! ^_^ |
