Butterfly

BUTTERFLY

Butterflies are very beautiful and fragile
They come in all different shapes and sizes and colors

I used to collect all kinds of butterflies
Black, white, red and all different colors

Each time I caught one I would see another
that i thought was even more beautiful

Than the one I already had

I really thought I had a lot of fun chasing
the butterflies and catching them

I just did not know how to keep them
Sometimes I would have many at one time
And not know what to do with them

Well what I mean is I would either hurt them
or damage them

See butterflies are vary fragile
And
Need to be treated with respect

Never new that

You know if you touch a butterflies wings it can not fly

I use to want to just touch the butterflies wings
because they were so beautiful

I did not think or care how that butterfly would
feel or what effect I would have on its life
Or if it would ever be able to fly again

I met someone who gave me what I was really looking for

See I thought if I could have a lot of butterflies
I would feel good about my self

INSIDE

Never happened

See I was missing a part of me, that only God could give

Now I have learned this some time ago when I really met Jesus

Way back when He was telling me
about butterflies

But

I did not understand till something happen
You see for me the butterflies were the girls I use to chase
Catch and release

Not knowing the damage I was doing to them by touching there wings
Some would die from their wounds and some would never fly again

God took my net away

But now I know what the butterfly was about that He showed me
The butterfly I saw was the most beautiful, I had ever seen

And

The one I will never forget, it will be in my heart forever as a reminder

God is good He showed me that a butterfly is a beautiful thing
That changes all the time

They can be a black one, red, white, and many more different colors and shapes and sizes, no two are the same

You see I have been caught in the butterfly catchers net before also, and got my wings damaged too
So I know that also.
I just could not see what I was doing wrong till I did not do it any more
Now I can see just how damaging we all are.

So now I just watch the butterflies and do not try to catch one or touch one

I will wait for the butterfly to touch me
Then I will be very careful and fragile with it
And be sure not to harm it, and if it wants to fly away, I do not want it

I will not touch its wings, so it can not fly, that has to be the butterflies choice

I respect the butterfly

THE BUTTERFLY CATCHER THAT USE TO BE

Aye, at times we are all blinded by beauty or by something of the sort. Very nice poem , by the way.
