D'you know that feeling?
That feeling of a hundred thousand tons
of bricks coming down and crushing your body.
Or that feeling of having your
still-beating heart gouged out with a dull knife
and watching it pump helplessly on the floor.
That feeling of your plans and your dreams
and hopes for the future being crumpled up
and thrown inot the corner to be forgotten and discarded.
And what about that feeling of being filled
to the bring with optimism just to
finally be brought back down to earth
with a massive puncture wound in your side.
Or when you pour your heart and sould into one thing only,
then discovering it was all in vain
and you're back to your musty cave again.
D'you know that feeling?

I like the feeling of this poem. It pojects a lot of pain, and suffering. Not many people probably know what it's like to see their own hearts pumping on the floor, but it would be brutally painful. Good job. |
