Light the candle, but you’re burning it at both ends
Now you’re on fire, from lack of sleep and loss of friends
Just a zombie, mindless in your daily deals
No time to think, work so hard you can no longer feel
Your stress and pain, is my loss and gain
Life is only getting harder
You can be mad at the world, and I don’t care
Always whining that life is never fair

Always p***ed, cause you feel you can not breathe
Open your eyes, don’t waste your energy as anger seethes
I see your eyes, exploding in internal rage
A workaholic, trapped inside a goal filled cage
Learn a lesson, enjoy life, cause you only have one
Life is a chore, sometimes a bore, if you never have fun
Your loss and pain, is your depression’s gain
Life is getting so much harder
You can be mad at me, and I don’t care
You try too hard, now life’s not fair

I warned you, ***** up and headed for a fall
Sometimes, I don’t know who you are at all
Empty shell, what’s left of what you want to be
Angry, bitter and blind to all reality
Your goodness fails, is your coffin’s nails
Life is only getting shorter
You can still be mad at me, and I still don’t care
Too busy crying life’s not fair

Look before you leap, and all that other crap
Instead of believing in something you’ve become a sap
Always worried about other’s ability
Instead of building your own respectability
Life is a series of war, against yourself and man
Put all that bulls**t aside, and do the best you can
Channel your rage to results, keep the system in check
Or self hate and pity will be the noose around your neck
Your whining ways will lead to darker days
Life is only getting shorter
You can be mad at me and I don’t care
You use me as a crutch
That I just can’t bear

very good message and structure. I liked it a lot.

While every care is taken to ensure the general sites content is family safe, our moderators cannot be in all places; all the time. Please report poetry and or comments that are in breach of our site rules HERE (Please include poem title or url). Parents also please ensure that you supervise your children well when they are on the internet; regardless of what a site says about being, or being considered, child-safe.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. Â©
