High School Blues

Contributed by pUnKa_RaCh on Saturday, 24th June 2006 @ 01:30:21 AM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

The school oval- oh what joy.
Here I am again
The sun is shining-
That’s one blessing
But the breeze is in my hair and I feel cold
The sound of laughter and gossip rings in my ears
As I observe the students in their glory of adolescence.

I silently watch like an outcast.

The grass is green and littered with papers
It’s the same everyday here
Same people
Same meaningless chatter
Of weekend alcoholic and sexual conquests
Same grass

My jumpers too daggy
My hairs not cool enough
And I’ve got food stuck in my braces

The worst thing of all
Is his sly grin, cheap stare
And the way he holds her undeserving hand

(just punch me in the face why don’t you.
for it wouldn’t hurt as much this)

I HATE this place.

though noone has yet..(and I'm so sorry I didn't the first time)

"Welcome Back Rach!"

..the place just wasn't the same without you.. I've always loved your work and thought of you as only a few poets.. (counted on a half a hand) that I can take a lesson from, and not only from a literary perspective.. but from an emotional one as well : )

that being said.. I feel your pain - I know what it's like to feel like an outcast.. and long for things you think might never come your way. The only advice I can give, (after growing sick and tired of trying to please everybody all the time) is to be yourself. There are many wonderful qualities about you, that your fellow students know nothing of. Keeping that in mind should give you the confidence you need to have them all groveling at your feet by the end of the academic season- believe me on this - confidence will exude all that you are.
(too many great qualities to mention..)

your work, is as it's always been my friend, STELLAR! ..keep it here, for all the support you'll ever need!

Your friend..

Billy
