IN ALL SINCERITY

Contributed by Lionel on Friday, 23rd June 2006 @ 04:53:52 PM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

God knows I care for His kingdom here,
and for His word to be understood.
This, sometime is why, with furvor I try,
to "enlighten" maybe more than I should.

I know His Word is Holy to the Lord,
and cannot be stressed too clear.
Yet, He decides why to open the blind eye,
and to unstop the deaf of ear.

But, He uses simple man in ways that He can,
to bring about His most perfect will.
So, I pray; use me God, with shepards staff and rod,
to shed light, and your will fulfill.

Wheather as a rebuke, or as a channel for truth,
I pray your Holy will be done:
That through my use, your word will break loose,
or yet, may awaken only one.

For, your way is right, you fought the good fight,
the victory is already won.
Though I desire to be- used most surely of thee,
thou marvelous savior, the Son.

Here I am Lord, wield me as a sword,
till my earthly life is past:
then, the proper praise, for all my mortal days,
will redound to Thy glory at last.

Lionel

Jude 3 "Earnestly contend for the faith...."
Titus 1:9 "Hold fast.... to sound doctrine."
Titus 2:1"Speak....sound doctrine."

this is a very wise, powerfll, tender, mercifull write.
I luv the way you just lay it out there without preaching and keeping an open mind.
to me the open mind is the key as God works thru us the simply person.
Incredible!
I'm sure the prophets of old are jealous of this masterpeice of Jesus luv for all.
luv, huggs, smiles, blessings,
emy

Emy already said it before.
Many an O.T. prophet's gift did not attain the level of your power of expression enhanced and complemented by a profound knowledge of scripture.
Great poem. Something to ponder over long.

I specifically love the below lines:

"Here I am Lord, wield me as a sword,"

It reminds me of our Lord's own words' "I have come not to bring peace - but the sword"
There are all too many who believe Christianity to be a faith to comfortably and idly rest upon. and let the world go by
Wonderful job this Lionel.
Blessings
Elizabeth
