Dear Dad

Contributed by pixie on Thursday, 22nd June 2006 @ 05:43:23 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

This is my letter to you,
Sorry for the things I put you through,
In my past I was nasty and unkind,
But now in my heart I search and find.

The words I should have said,
Told you long before you were dead,
You were the best Dad in the world,
And I’m sorry for being such a messed up little girl.

If I could I’d turn the clocks back,
I’d give you everything I did lack,
I’d be the prefect daughter I promise,
Making you proud would be top of my list.

There were so many things I had to say,
Before you became an angel and went away,
But I never got my chance in the end,
So to you this message I do send.

I am sorry for being so bad,
You were the best person to play my Dad,
To have you in my life was such a blessing,
And the next time I’ll see you God leaves me guessing.

A wonderful poem from the heart, a real tribute to your father. We all probably have some regrets. Hopefully we learn from our mistakes. Your father is probably smiling down upon you and feeling proud of you. We know that God is all forgiving, and we need to forgive ourselves.

wow. I'm horrible to my dad, and I just realized that I might be writing him a letter just like this one day. Well done, I can deffinitely relate. I'm sorry you couldn't get the message to him earlier, but at least you finally said how you truly felt.

keep up the good work,
-moses

Don't think for one minute that your dad wasn't looking over your shoulder as you wrote these beautiful wrdz. And when you were through, he reread the whole thing, and now knows that you realize just how things were. And he still loves you even with all your faults. We all have faults. Your not alone there. Thank you for sharing this. wrdz
