Storm

Storm
~
Rode to work,
On the tail of a storm.
Heavy rain,
Above the norm.
Lightning flashing,
Across the sky.
Fevered pace,
Mounting high.
~
Trees swaying,
From a pounding wind.
Rocking the car,
Again and again.
Puddles forming,
On the road.
Ready to break,
From the heavy load.
~
From out my window,
My eyes did see.
Animals two by two,
In front of me.
Pacing forwardly,
In the rain.
Made me wonder,
From where they came.
~
And as I drove,
This rainy morn.
To the left,
My eyes were torn.
On a hill,
A structure tall.
With a huge deck,
And mighty walls.
~
With a little man,
Waving his arms
Franticly,
Sounding the alarm.
Had the day,
Finally came.
When God wouldn’t,
Stop the rain?
~
Had punishment,
Found the door?
From all the years,
We simply ignored.
The existence of man,
Ending soon.
From the sin,
That sealed our dome.
~
With a crack of thunder,
I woke up scared.
Thankful to be awake,
From the dream I feared.
Looked out the window,
The sun was bright,
With a rainbow beaming,
To my delight.

Very nice work Jeff! I especially liked the rainbow ending. Wonderful message for all of us in there.

Smiles,
Jennifer
