Mr. Nobody

Contributed by franciswolf on Wednesday, 21st June 2006 @ 11:57:30 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Whistling on the street,
You got no quota to meet .
All brought loose and shagged down
It’s what you want,
No job to haunt,
You got old greasy converses.
Vocabulary of curses.
They seem to get rather old
But you’re free
Just like you said you’d be,
You’re Mr. Nobody
Never bruised, or bloody
You stayed soiled and muddy
It’s how you made it
You’re spotting teens at the park
As the moon shifts into dark.
Keeping close with your beady eyes
You smoke a borrowed cig,
Get nickels from a jig,
And you dance away all that would be pain
And make showers from rain.
But hey, you’re free,
Just like you said you’d be.
Your Mr. Nobody
Never bruised, or bloody
You stay soiled and muddy
It’s how you made it.
Daddy’s got some cash
To fix that rotten rash
But you walked out at seventeen.
You sleep with a dog,
Like a bump on a log,
The trash can lights up night
Just like you thought it might.
Yes, it’s all like you thought it’s suppose to be.
You being free,
Just like you said it’d be,
You’re Mr. Nobody
Never bruised or bloody
You stay soiled and muddy
Its how you avoided it
