The Sidewalk

A sidewalk
The concrete lay on its piles of ground
Allowing us passers-by
To walk on its self
The grass
Surrounding and living
Its life but a skit
In this world of months and years
The grass doth die before it comes even close to it
The crack
The sidewalks enemy, the grasses friend
That one small flaw its in other wise perfect skin
The grasses small hope in the otherwise death filled world
Underneath the sidewalks concrete
A tiny little hope lived but barely
Then one day the hope was fulfilled
The crack finally came
To save the little soul
It grew and grew and grew some more
And finally shot out triumphant once more
The foot
A runner, a walker, a young lady in a skirt,
A businessman, a homeless man, or even a little girl
It stepped
Landed with a murderous slap
Upon the tiny grass shoot
The little one that lived
That could
That did
The foot did land and smash it to bits
And that was all there is
For the grass shoot that did
A Sidewalk
The Grass
The Crack
The Foot
The End

I really like this poem. Very interesting analogies with the day in the life of the grass, the sidewalk, the people. Nice job. Nice poem. :-)
Thank you,
Tim
