Sick, Sad World

Contributed by SmileSkinDeep on Wednesday, 21st June 2006 @ 03:46:10 PM in AEST
Topic: political

I heard a sick sad voice
Just the other day
This quiet hidden voice
Had much to say

At first it sounded only a whisper
And grew to reach my ears
Until I could no longer ignore
What it held in these years

It reached me through its pessimism some say
But I listened to every word of the tale I had never heard
Poorly informed of this place's current state

At first it only told me of this world
All the maliviolent happenings day by day
The ones that are hidden by bigger controvercies
I knew I couldn't miss what this voice had to say
Then told me of the government and the activists,
The right-wing bastards, left-winged old bags,
The commies, the liberals, conservationists
Then it paused on account of jet lag
For it had come from Iran
And remained hidden due to its current wardrobe

It wanted me to spread the word
Like many others had tried
I said I would, but you know:
I lied....

I appoligize for not repeating what it said
I am no better a person than I was before
For now that voice has grown dead
So has mine, but it shall prevail once more

Nice job...You know you could make a part 2 to this. Everything that you said had a particular truth to it. Good write.
