Innocence Died

Contributed by NoSaint on Tuesday, 20th June 2006 @ 01:32:07 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

In the gutter she lays
Dirty and tattered
Stuffing inside wont stay
Even oil and paint splattered

Lace and frills torn apart
Cast aside left to rot
Where is the child who owns her heart?
Taken away from this very spot

This doll once loved is all that’s left
To witness this horrible crime
Two parents hearts bereft
And will never heal with time

How can life take such a turn?
Innocence ripped to shreds
As a little doll and girl spurned
Lay in the dirt both dead

Weep society for our children
Their childhood is under attack
No excuse for this kind of end
Where she cannot come back

Too many little ones lost
Too many tears are cried
This is just too much a cost
The day our innocence died
