And if life should come calling, please tell her I’m busy,
Things to do, and people to see,
Phone calls to make and places to be,
If she calls, please take a message for me.
And if death should come calling, please tell him I’m gone,
I had something to do; it’s not yet done,
I’m involved in a battle that is not yet won,
Tell him thanks for the journey, I hope he had fun.
And if love should come calling, please tell her I’m out,
I need to buy things that I can’t do without,
Too many heartaches, shadows of doubt,
If she calls tell her I know what she’s about.

What a perfect wite, intellectualy as well as emotionaly. Stated very well right up front.
excellant colaboration between words and there meaning, along with the rhytmic values.
