POSSESSION

Contributed by Davinah on Tuesday, 20th June 2006 @ 12:43:57 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

What is this thing that we share.
This painful attraction.
Your anchor holds me in this life.
I cannot release you, though I tried.

Not as much a place in my heart
but a hole in my soul.
Your touches burn and linger on.
Your kisses, sweet poison on my lips.

If I could heal you, I would.
Yet I only know how to destruct.
I came along at the wrong time.
Too late, too empty, too tormented.

Fate bothers me.
What is the point of a vast and eternal plan.
When I cannot give you what you need.
No love, no comfort, no redemption.

And what is it that I feel for you.
But a burning desire to possess.
You would crumble in my hands.
I would leave you in pieces.

You are someone out of my hands.
Cannot understand or have.
So close to me but I dare not touch
your festering heart that aches so much

This poems, in my eyes, relates to the saying, if you really love something, let it go and if it comes back, it's worth keeping. It's a good write and keeps the creative mind thinking.

I like the who's who effect in the begining it is you who is possesed by a longing and in the end u do the possesing but in between the lines no one is realy sure of anything 4 it is the heart that's that posesses the best of both worlds. A most splendid peice of cat and mouse episode.

extraordinary.. as I've come to expect-
and the final two lines are very telling indeed:
that darkness does not always invite the same.
..and so your own, has heart afte all-

very intense..
