Twilight Parfait

..for Katie

The day died-
it's twilight pastel parfait
as delicious in demise
as it's delicate key lime dawn.
Cranberry relish over streaks of marmalade
the candy coated sweetness of all my joy~
popsicle blue beneath a mulberry syrup
stretching out to the sugar spackled sea dawn sky!

The perfection of THIS DAY
as the surf crashes.. "liquid cotton"
like crystal crushed lemon slush-

It makes my heart smile through the soles of my feet!

Kissed by the sun..
and I drug my way through scalloped ridges,
a warming wash of ivory sand.

Strolling at sunset
I stopped in reverence - an inner snapshot:

"sniiick-clishhh"
quiet awe-

The twilight furnace and its fierce scalding power,
slipping away.. spitting resistance;
like a furious child pulled into the stern ,
soothing arms of the sea.

I am so full~
a'burst with satisfaction
solar kissed.. a burnished copper-
afloat in the colors of her heart and mine.

And to think:

parfait, my dessert~

..a cheeky dry wine
drizzled on the fruits
of daydream labors
now far and away gone;
borne in the scoop of my hungry spoon-

no real translation..
no fancy words..
only life, love and you~

The secret chatter and whisperd tumble of the sea
spoken tenderly.. and on my mind;

my thoughts:
a smeared, cream berry blue
held in status above my private infamy,
locked in the smile of my eyes.

I've said this before- Katie is an extremely lucky girl
to have you for a dad !!

This was completely saturated with beautiful sentiment
and glorious metaphors. I no sooner settle on one as
my favourite, and then I read on and find even more
breathtaking notions..

*sigh*

This is striking, hun. In a most wondrous, allegorical way.

To have the most treasured gift "in" your LIFE>!!!!!!! What a happy and sparkling, write, of all.! Isnt it grand to have a daughter, who can take all that is given; bad or good.... And make it the happiest of all.?!?! Cherish each moment, as if it wasnt like another.! I made my dad happy for Fathers' Day .;(well least, i hope I did).LOL......Beautiful write.
