FATHERHOOD

FATHERHOOD

Fatherhood is said to be
both personal and Universal too.
Several concepts of Fatherhood, both
real fathers, and step-fathers to you.
Some fathers were there for us, some
were not............
Many gave financial support, some failed
to do so, others about us forgot!

Fathers who loved or neglected us,
Many were our role models or gave us
reasons to be very anxious.
Our father may have been there for us sometimes,
Yet not there for us at other times.

Reconciling the ideal father that resides in
our thoughts
With the father that we actually have, can teach us
much about ourselves
like different inkblots.
Fathers are most important in any relationship
As a child that never had one will relate,
with heartache and hardship.

Our father will often affect our relationships
with other men in our lives.
Learned behavior is very strong, we want to
imitate him, even when he's wrong!
Certain talents that you possess may have
been passed down to you from him.
Personal issues that you inherited by virtue
of his every whim.

Clowning around may be his "cup of tea"
Happy fathers are nice to have for
you and me............
But of all the father's you could choose
this whole world over,
Is the father that will love you
unconditionally
here after!

Father's Day

"The rich man writes the book of laws that the
poor man must defend, but the highest laws are
written on the hearts of honest men. If that cup
is passed to me to do what must be done. When
they lay me down remind them,
I was my father's son."
~Dick McQuisten~ Author and friend

*Warm hugs for all Fathers*

Oh ConSue this is simply delightful.
You just encompass all types of fathers, heroic ones, sober and steadfast ones, comic ones, - especially those that are so very loveable because of their human weakness.
Can you ever fall in love with a particular weakness so that you would never want to miss it?

What a beautiful poem tribute to the fathers univeersal.Pictures are wonderful too.
Then come the foster fathers (Saint Joseph one of them) and the FATHER OF FATHERS
OUR FATHER.
Very lovely indeed.
Enjoyed it greatly.
Warm love
Elizabeth

what a concise, enriching piece of literature-
I think this should be required reading for ALL dads
during the prenatal period!! perhaps we'd have a lesser count of broken homes in the world if it were.

Great post-

B.

Ok, so I'm a few days late ...

As a father ... I thank you
As a Poet ... I admire you
As a reader ... I adore you
And as a friend ... I tell you, all of our Father's love poured out of you here.

Nazzy ~
