Your words may upset me,
Even make me sad,
But they came from your sweet lips,
That alone can make me glad,
We never made promises,
We were never meant to be,
But I am always there for you,
And you are there for me,
We don't have a future,
We never had a past,
But I know in our hearts,
That our friendship will last,
For we have a common bond,
We always listen and reply,
And the word I never want to hear,
Is that final word goodbye
