The world’s asleep in broad daylight
It tries to wake up but sinks back into the night
As it forsakes the light
Daniel leaves the phone as it keeps ringing
Too caught up in Tiffany’s singing
And so the hotel’s guests aren’t escaping
Just stead solid, remaining, and existing
And Daniel, well his eyes tear up as that song, it comes to a close
When Tiffany stops singing, and hands him an approachable rose
The creatures of the garden are alive
Keeping up with their plans, they try to contrive
Some kind of agony for the one’s who are outside
Who are forbidden to hide at this garden’s inside
As they all take the ride
And the humans, well, they all peak on anyways I suppose
And they pull and tug for an approachable rose
Captain man he shoots a gun and powder fills the air
His smoke circles round into skeletons off the cool foreign air
But he doesn’t seem to care
His rum comes in buckets by the fire
As his troops try to rest as they tire
While one tells stories of something else for a way to inspire
But they know him a liar; he’s the tale’s one buyer
And Captain looks out through the smoke saying “Bring your tale to a close”
And hands him a medal of honor pinned to an approachable rose
Cool cat with a leather jacket and a smoke
Watches ladies as he breathes in and tries not to choke
But he coughs from the inhaled toke
He keeps on the corner to remain the barer of mystery
But hounds for the lady to grab him and set him free
He’s history, not to be persuaded philosophically
As he flexes and knows this is scary
But remains frightened shaken from his head to his toes
Awaiting the drift of an approachable rose
Greta drives the hearse through the countryside
As her husband in the casket goes along for the ride
He’s still there by her side
And she looks at him, a tear comes to her eye
Says she knows she’ll get by
Or at least she will try; I guess we all don’t know why
But we know it no lie
And she whispers him the words that he knows
“Thanks my dear, for the approachable rose”
And don’t you know? The world’s asleep in broad daylight
Trying to wake but falling into the night
As it forsakes the light
And a million within pass their time here ridiculously
Approaching each act of the action meticulously
Keeping their rows at the dock never at the sea
And it all is seen rather simplistically
As we look for beauty and we search for where it goes
And all await, the touch of an approachable rose
