I look in the mirror and what do I see
I see a girl who isn’t me.
She looks so happy, so free from care.
I glance again, can’t help but stare.
It isn’t me, not who I am.
I see it now, it’s all a scam.
Outside, I pretend to be,
The person everyone expects of me.
But inside I’m screaming and breaking apart.
I want to escape this pain in my heart.
If only there was a reason for why,
I feel this way, for wanting to cry,
Then maybe I would stand a chance,
In being the girl I saw at a glance.
