LOVE 4 YOUTH

Contributed by chulysnacky on Thursday, 15th June 2006 @ 07:58:37 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

AS A CHILD I HAD MANY FEARS
THROUGHOUT MY EVERY DAYS THE ONLY THING THAT STOOD OUT
WERE MY TEARS... AND THAT'S HOW IT PRETTY MUCH WAS FOR YEARS
I NEVER OPENED UP UNTIL I STARTED TO OPEN MY EYES AND EARS,
I STARTED TO LISTEN AND HEAR ALL THINGS POSSIBLE
EVEN THE IMPOSSIBLE WAS POSSIBLE TO MY EARS...
I STARTED LEARNING THE WAY OF LIFE AT 6 WHEN MOM WAS JUST TOO SICK
STOOD WITH FAMILY, BUT FAMILY WASN'T EVER FAMILY
JUST ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY WHILE THINGS WERE SAFE.
FROM HOME TO HOME AND I JUST PRETTY MUCH GREW UP ALONE
NO REAL LOVE EVER TOUCHED MY HEART
AND I GUESS THAT'S WHERE MY PART BEGINS
LOVING TO LIVE AND LIVING TO LEARN
HAD I BEEN OLDER THEN...
I COULD UNDERSTAND...
HOW THAT TINY WORLD I LIVED COULD'VE BEEN IN THE PALM OF MY HAND
I WAS JUST TOO SMART, SMART ENOUGH TO BEAR EVERYONE'S WEIGHT
THAT'S WHEN GROWING UP WAS HARD,
NO PLAYING TIME, JUST TIME FOR SCARS.
WASHING DISHES AND CHANGING DIAPERS
ISN'T FUN AT AN EARLY AGE.
THE FUNNIEST PART OF ALL THIS IS I SINCERELY MISS
MY CHILDHOOD THAT WAS SKIPPED LIKE A GRADE IN SCHOOL
ALL BECAUSE I WASN'T A FOOL
KNEW JUST A LITTLE TOO MUCH
AND THAT'S HOW I GOT STUCK..
SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT'S THE BEST KIND OF LUCK,
BUT HOW WOULD THEY KNOW THEY WERE NEVER STUCK...
GOING TO SCHOOL WAS NEVER EASY, AND YEAH EVERYONE
SURE DID TEASE ME, BUT WHAT WAS I TO DO
STAND AROUND AND ACT A FOOL...
IT WASN'T ME.
ALWAYS WELL WITH PEOPLE,
EXCEPT PEOPLE MY AGE
THEY WERE NEVER ON MY PAGE
ALWAYS ON ANOTHER STAGE COMPETING AGAINST ME
FIGHTING FOR THE NEXT DAYS TO COME WHEN THAT PRESENT DAY WASN'T EVEN OVER.
I'M GLAD IT'S ALL OVER NOW.
NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT...
ALL THOSE THINGS MADE ME THE GREAT PERSON THAT I AM TODAY...
I COULDN'T HAVE MADE IT IF EVERYTHING WAS A FAIRY TALE.
I GUESS THAT'S WHY I'M SPONTANEOUS AND NOT A PLANNER
MY WORLD DOES NOT EXIST TO MOST... AND MOST OF MY FREINDS
SAY I'M AN ANIMAL, NOW I KNOW WHY...
TOUGH WHEN IT COMES TO PROTECTING MINE,
BUT LOVING MOST OF THE TIMES.

Hey hey hey, I get to be the first to comment, yehar.
I get where you are coming from in this emotional poem.
You are a survivor, you've had it rough.
You've come through it all and now you are buff.

Hey darling, you need to make it easier on the eyes for the readers to read! By taking off the caps, why do feel that your poetry needs to stand out like that? Poetry needs to stand out by your selection of words! Not caps!
