Many Paths

Contributed by NoSaint on Thursday, 15th June 2006 @ 08:47:41 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

I have walked in the darkness
Fallen into the abyss of self pity
Lost in the forest of doubt
My Heavenly parents sent
A beacon strong to follow

Do not presume yours
Is the only way to God
Do not judge others
As they journey toward light

Each soul has to make peace
With God themselves
There is not only one path
To any destination

Look to your brothers and sisters
With love and pick them up
If they flounder on the way
Take time to understand their ways

Each religion holds basic truths
Never would God want violence
It is not the way of the Creator
Love is the best road to Heaven’s gate

"....and the greatest of these is Love" John Keats said (and I agree) "Truth is beauty and beauty, truth; that is all we know and all one needs to know." BRAVO on this 5 star poem. If we all would live by these words, the world would know peace. Thanks for sharing this with us!
