Sapphire Tears

Contributed by Ruby2sdy on Thursday, 15th June 2006 @ 06:09:36 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Tears, like sapphires, fell from my eyes,
The glass on the pavement shattered like lies,
The world caved in; the sleeping awoke,
All in the moment that my heart broke.
The rain poured, cooled my burning skin,
The moment life ended, yours seemed to begin,
A decade of promises, steeped within sin,
You locked your heart’s doors; let no one in.
Forgive me for crying, for letting things show,
For telling you things that no one should know,
For loving you still; despite all you did,
Too young to forget; too old to forgive,
So my friend, walk away, ignore these tears of mine,
And these words, with my heart, wrapped up in each line,
Nothing can heal, except the passage of time,
The price that we pay, for a taste of the divine.

Aww...This is just too sad...

This poem is well written, but it's hard to enjoy it, because it's very heartbreaking, and very relatable.

I think it's good. the flow works well, and the rhyme doesn't sound fake, which many poems do, these days.

Fantastic descriptions in the first 4-5 lines.

Good write,
Phil xxx
