I'm only a chapter in a book
that takes to long to read
My lines were already written
before I even had a chance to speak
By an author painting a scene
of some mess that was made
But the role I was handed..
it wasn't for me
I've been overlooked
and the protagonist is taking you home
I'm always dying to keep my head
well above the waves
But my pages are numbered
and of this I'm afraid
I left a note in a bottle
on the peak of a wave
Inside is everything I was meant to say
but the story is over
and I'm at the bottom of the sea
I've been overlooked
and the protagonist is taking you home
