WAR within

Contributed by Whisper on Wednesday, 14th June 2006 @ 04:26:14 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Silver and black and wood ash floats
past the last glass window frame
of this hobble place
Rivers of rain run through the holes
of the straw thatched roof
caught in pots and pans
scattered haphazardly
around
The smokey ghostly maw of the
moon on high
is just a blur
amist the wisp of darken clouds
still
The thunder cracks
and opens the skies
Prayers are whispered
and thrown up high
The out side world is just
a horrid,vile, mishapened place
The wars
the death
the misery
and woes
Hold Close your children
Are the children safe
Guard their ears from the
sound of gun fire
bombs, shells ,explosion and pain
Shielding them
with only your talk of faith
Of finally having strong leaders
to pull us through
and soon this ugliness will end

Stay safe
you think
inside our ideal homes
Close and lock the door
You think No harm can enter in
Strange how the evil creeps in
from beneath that same locked door
Fighting and discontent grows within the vary walls
Tv, radio, Music it never ends
Eyed forced tight fighting off the demons of
Hell it self
I am again
trapped within.

Wishing the fears away

Whisper

WOW! Whisper, I know you posted this as emotional, but
there is a darkness in here that won't be denied!

Exceptionally written and with a commanding dexterity.

I love it!! Well done.

You have done an amazing thing here with this wonderful poem. A very powerful statement of how really none of us is safe and I love that you think of our innocent children in this powerful piece. Very artfully done with a very powerful message.

It really did hit home with me.

Thank you,

Tim
