In Your Honor I Fight

Contributed by ibelieve-dreamsonhorizon on Wednesday, 14th June 2006 @ 01:58:29 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

pulling out the blade that has pierced my heart, i can feel the gushing pace of the red tidal waves leaving my sense with trails of pain burning me alive.
i know my blood is spilt.
yes i feel the bullets being shot into my head tearing my mind asunder, alive.
and yes the broken bones buried inside me bruised my lungs, my breath stumps more heavily now. but i...

i remember how i made it here,
i remember how far i've come from the gaze of death,
i remember the few that have lent me their hands,
i remember the dreams i had, i remember that i still have a dream,
yes i suddenly remember that i am still alive. this world has hurt me but i'm still alive.

i remember the love that i've lost,
i remember the mistakes i've made,
i remember the few days when i lived with dignity.
all the good and the bad - i remember.
i realize that my last chance is here - either i'll make everything i've dreamed come true or i'll die in pain, in vain.

i just remember that this world is for me to conquer.
i will conquer it for you and me.
i am here to honor you not to ashame you.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
