If only I could have a fag,
just one tiny little drag,
the feel of one between my fingers,
the smell of smoke that always lingers,
Huh!! do I want to smell like that ?
im really scared I will get fat,
it ruins, your health, teeth and skin,
it really does not keep you thin,
when I was sad and I cried,
they helped me commit suicide,
now im happy and I know,
its not the way I plan to go,
Smoking really is no joke,
staggering through life in a cloud of smoke,
always wheezing, always coughing,
every one a nail in your coffin.
Can feel your health getting worse,
visions of a horse drawn hearse,
well now that I am smoke free,
im on my 100th cup of tea...
Oh well you have to be addicted to something.

I guess I have to be honest... I'm still addicted! It's those empty promises that are the worst... you know, this is the last one, but then... well... it's bad for you, but I like it. A good poem though, maybe my skins just a little too thick to be inspired to stop... but god, I love my cancer sticks. haha! Nice write, good one,

Well done Lillyjane, keep it up. I loved the bit about each one of them being a nail in your coffin. From the comments you have for this poem it looks as though you have been very encouraging for others to stop, (one so young they should never have started!) It's surprising who you can reach with your writing and you certainly have. Keep it up, it's inspirational! |
