Time goes on, I'm getting older
New burdens fall upon my shoulder
Restless feelings, but I'll be find
If only I could slow down time...
Always in motion, it never stands still
You want it to stop, when you've had your fill
Good times become lost, as time slips away
Old friendships are dying
Will I smile another day
I want to slow down the evolving hands of time
But the days move much faster
and my writing loses rhyme
Like an unflinching witness
at the scene of a crime
I want to grasp the future,
But I haven't got the time
Scrapbook open, pictures faded
Out of control, sad and jaded
Slip through my fingers, please don't let it end
Time claims another victim
You've lost another friend
Tell me why as we get older
Life gets in the way
You lose another shoulder
to lean on, but have I lost my mind?
I hate losing friendships, but we're out of time
