A Pessimist's Advice

Contributed by a7x36 on Monday, 12th June 2006 @ 02:30:08 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Dawn breaks on a new day;
the last one was a nightmare,
and this one will be worse for sure.

Can anything stop today
form becoming another page
in this horror novel
known as life?

If i hold my head high,
won't someone just knock
it off my neck?

Hope for the best?
The best has come and gone.
Nothing lies ahead
but black days;
days as black as my soul.

My heart ceases to function,
black and filled with sorrow.
Hardened to the point of stone,
it can no longer beat.

I meet people with blank stares,
and those who are happy
with mere hostility.

For why be happy?
When you can be miserable!
Cry instead of laughing.
Throw away your colors for black,
the absence of all light.

Sell your soul to sorrow.
Mourn good times passed
and scowl upon those
who are happy.

Bring death to joy,
and knock out the teeth
of every smile.

Turn your back on the world.
It has nothing to offer.
Only greed, lust, and corruption.
Kill the social you,
he was lonely anyway.

Feed your stone cold black heart
with hate and loneliness.
Turn your back on the ones you loved,
that love will never be returned.

Turn the wheels of hate in your mind,
be saddistic.
Because life's not worth living
except to make everyone as miserable as you.

lol, i sorta had to laugh at that one, good write, and it does make sense, as pessimistic as it may be. sounds sort of like my "just a joke" one, saying that there's no point in living and those that are happy are just being ignorant. like i said, good one,

I agree with natalya, i just started to giggle half way through. But life can be a bit like that.
Any way I love the final stanza.

Turn the wheels of hate in your mind,
be saddistic.
Because life's not worth living
except to make everyone as miserable as you.

Brilliant!
