i can't expect you to love me..
as much as i wish you would..
and i can't expect people to leave us alone..
although i know they could..
i can't expect you to be with me..
and never leave me at all
and i can't expect you not to hurt me..
or even care for me at all..

I can only wish you would..
love me like i love you..
and wish that you'll never hurt me..
never leave me for somebody new..
i could wish you'd stop listening..
to the people all around..
and never go back to her..
and never ever frown..
and i could wish people would back away..
leaving us alone..
i could wish you'd hold me close..
and never let me go..

i could hope i mean as much to you..
as you mean to me..
and i could hope..
that your love grows stronger..
everyday for me..
