Tears in the moonlight

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You used to hurt her, but now no more.
running away, the only cure.
back in time, her mind does go,
wandering through, the passionate throes.
Since teenage yrs, she'd been with you,
much abuse, they did go through.
Scared to talk, scared to move,
if she did, another bruise.
Sleepless nights, tearful days,
trying to keep the kids away.
Everybody hush, daddy's home,
her never knowing what was to come.
You used to love them, where did that go.
the bits of affection, you used to show.
All that was left, was misery,
it took a while for her to see.
But they were brave, that fateful night,
her and the kids, in the dark moonlight.
They did run, and they did hide,
the night they realised, all love had died.
They ran at night, when people were asleep,
and through the night, you could hear her weep.
She didnt know, where they could go,
it just had to be somewhere, that you'd not know.
They ran far away, but were safe and warm,
with people around then, to sheild them from harm.
So many issues, with which they had to deal,
only time apart, would help them heal.
They've moved on now, emotionally,
her vulnerability though, still clear to see.
They will get there though, please have no doubt,
she's proved shes stronger, shes seen it out.
The kids are happy now, wow, how they have grown,
the memories they had, now arent shown.
They have new friends, they have they're mum,
its now hard to guess, what you had done.
She is now, finally free,
to be herself, whom that may be.
She does not cower, but she does smile,
eighteen months, its took a while.
She started to have faith,
shes started to have belief.
But only when shes found herself,
will she finally find relief.

Thank you for sharing that emotional write. I am so glad it has a happy ending/beginnning anew.
The words lead the reader though the ups and downs .Almost feel the pain but there was a lifting. A pleasant Surprize . Good write.
