She Broke the Carburetor and Now I'm Jumping

Contributed by Exodus on Friday, 9th June 2006 @ 06:33:54 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Jumping and I can’t hear a sound
I’m jumping, from my head to the ground
I’m running, so low, not empty though
And I’m stunning, guess you never had to know

Trying to cope, slippery slope
Trying to stay away and save face like a dope
I’m grinding and I just really don’t care
I’m still finding things that I still won’t share

You got me stirred, utterly preferred to something completely dry
You and I have no words, silently waiting for the emptiness to subside
You broke the carburetor; your heart got left in the refrigerator
You try to pull yourself away, save your grace for another day

So now I’m jumping and I am looking up rather than down
I’m flying there shaking, I can see your face but I can’t hear a sound
With my eyes closed
No one even knows
Where I’m going and what I certainly do wish
Maybe on a journey, with the clothes on my back and an old man walking stick

So now I’m leaving
I said I’m leaving
My thoughts can be deceiving
I have no choice with these thoughts I am always stealing

Headstrong and wishful, I came up with another fistful of beer and drank it dry
Me I don’t know why
I’m always choosing
All the things I’m losing

Because it’s crazy in a hazy place
I guess I’d rather face
Something awful, no wait that’s it
Burning at the middle, alone, ***** the *********

Now its tomorrow
Your eyes struggle to refocus in your sorrow
That you pulled yourself away and went needy
Said that you just wanted to be greedy

I’m jumping and I can hold my desire in the palm of my hand
I’m stumping, with some bold intellectual fire, from the trenches of my final stand
Greetings
I love these subtle meetings
As you continue to watch me jump and why?
You broke the carburetor and now the car has died

Congratulations on what happens next
Hopefully I’m soaking and definitely rolling with my bullet proof vest

I’m jumping and it won’t be long
You’ll be leaving and it won’t be wrong
Visiting your lovers
All the sisters and all the brothers
They see me jumping and they don’t know why
She broke the carburetor and now the car has all but died
