Greater Still

Contributed by Alison on Thursday, 8th June 2006 @ 11:46:17 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

As the sun slowly begins to rise,
Feeling of anticipation; hope.
Gently, like cream in the sky,
Colors appear, blending together,
A warmth like no other seeping into the air,
Chasing away the shadows of the night,
Bring joy with every ray of light,

So I feel when he touches me,
Yet even greater still.

As the rain begins to build in the sky,
Knowing what is to come; confident.
Right before the rain pours,
And washes away the dirt,
A claim, stillness beyond comprehension,
Is held in the very air itself,
Bring peace with every breath.

So is my mind when he speaks to me,
Yet even greater still.

As the day ends with sky darkening,
Believing rest may now be had; comfort.
All around the blanket of night is being thrown,
And there is seen a single star,
One bright light, shining with brilliances,
Reassuring that all will not go dark,
The one star illuminates the blackening sky,

So is my heart when he looks at me,
Yes, yet greater still.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
