Winds of Time

Contributed by Gentlemanpoet on Thursday, 8th June 2006 @ 10:45:21 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

A window of time that now has past.
For love of youth in ages cast.
A glance of love from innocent eyes.
Young love departs in tearful cries.
Two hearts are torn in youthful quests.
A time that love had failed the tests.
Now it’s gone no chance to seek.
We reminisce which leaves us weak.
In haze of mind we can’t recall.
A name or face from past at all.
We run and play no thought of time.
For we are young and in our prime.
The winds of time have blown away.
A gentle time a brighter day.
Looking back on dreams we lost.
Advice not heard we paid the cost.
We found the love that we longed for.
And joy they bring we can’t ignore.
But from the past the yearning weighs.
To live again our youthful days.

Wonderfully nostalgic of our first love/s. Bittersweet are the memories you so expertly captured here in this perfectly flowing piece.
