The Winter of Discontent

Contributed by darkscorpio on Saturday, 8th February 2003 @ 01:20:00 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Unsure of my direction
Unsure which way to turn
Feeling out my regained strength
will the fire inside still burn

Dealing with feelings, that I'm starting to resent
That's what fuels the storms inside my winter of discontent

Confronting visions of the past
That leave an icy frost upon the ground
Will I give in to temptation
and shatter love like snowflakes into fire
Can I be strong, and think of the future
or give in to this beckoning desire

Committing a sin, that I'm not sure I want to repent
Another storm of ice, in my winter of discontent
Are these feelings, a message that's being sent?
Another trial by fire in my winter of discontent

My love is at a crossroad, on a road that's one way
Will I keep the love, or let it slip away
I gave her my heart, but is there more to life than this
Will I risk it all for a stranger's kiss?

Has anybody seen where my conscience went?
another question in my winter of discontent
The winter's coldness flows in through a vent
of guilt in my mind
from my winter of discontent
