Perfect Purgatory

Dislike of this life
What can I say?
I’ve screwed it up
I’ve made it this way
What’s left to do
But lie in my grave?
I dug it; perfected it
What can I say?
That I created this,
This monster
Take the plunge into abyss
Fire encompasses my body
My imperfections
Courtesy of this magnifying glass
Burn as fast as my clothes
This purgatory
Has become my Heaven
For it perfects me
Lowers my standards
But this is only me wishing
For things to get better
Put on this mask of a smile
As a single tear falls from my face
Puts out the fire
Brings back the cotton and lace
My dreams and what I aspire
It takes me back to “me”
Gives me a sucker punch;
Socks me back to reality
Don’t let me wake up
I’d be happy:
If I couldn’t clearly see
I’d be happy:
If I was more than people around me
I’d be happy:
If I weren’t me
Too sad, too late
I’ve done it again
What can I say?
