A survivor's tale

Contributed by darkscorpio on Saturday, 8th February 2003 @ 01:20:00 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Thoughts of time, here and gone, that never can erase
Words to my novel, another word shares another face
My life has changed so much, in so little time
Looking forward to the future, the past doesn't make me blind
The world is sometimes cruel and heartless,
someone always wants to play a game
Of dueling minds, who is better, who feels shame
I want to try to change the world, but I know it just wont stop
For me, and a handful of dreams,
the world is molded as the weak will drop
and the strong will survive,
indecision is the difference between dead and alive
Somewhere though, there is room for me
and a belief that good, honesty and caring will oversee
the crimes of the world, and their bitter, angry ways
Some time we'll live in happier days
I realize now, that nothing really matters
Not the things you own, or when you think your heart shatters
All you can do, is try your best
and pray to live another day, and pass one of the tests
that life throws at you
Believe in yourself, if you fail start anew
But never give up, never give in
Don't succumb to life's pressures,
that's the most mortal of sin
