My Enemy

Contributed by brokenheartsbleed on Tuesday, 6th June 2006 @ 10:59:04 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I stare into his eyes
Fierce with rage
For something I don’t know
His face is scarred
And worn down
Burned from the sun
That hides his secrets
His breathing is heavy
Like that of a wild animal
And his fists are clenched
I can see the white in his knuckles
He seems like something is bothering him
I think that he is misunderstood
But this war was waged long before
And I am only here to continue
What has already been started
It’s a never ending battle
Back and forth we swing
Trying to destroy each other
But no one seems to win
I can see my reflection in his eyes
He hates me because of what I am
All he wants is for something better
Something I think I can’t be
And I close my eyes to him
I look down in shame
I can’t do this again
I take a swing at him
As the mirror breaks
And shatters into broken fragments
Of my reflection on the floor

Pretty intense personal reflection here...wow. This is a very open and honest write. Nicely done, and thanks for sharing.
