DreamsandWishes
|
Seize the day before the day is done,
Hear the city sleep to dream her war is finally won
For victory was beyond your sights,
The impossible reach that stretched your limbs
And pulled apart itself at the seams
To reveal the naked truth beyond closed doors,
A thin disguise –
If you look, you’ll find,
A puzzle of scattered pieces,
Pieces of you, pieces of me
My mind is your fruit for the picking,
That ripens with age for someone to listen
Or hear the thoughts you couldn’t imagine
As far and wide, as deep as the ocean
Swim together, forever, into blackness
Then find sand on the soles of our feet, washed over,
Wash away the tears of a forgotten dream -
We care not to remember, even if we try
So strange for fiction, a fabrication made real
Sometimes so real and unreal.
