I'm losing it,
day by day.
I don't know myself anymore.
From childhood to adulthood,
I strived for perfection.
Now, I'm questioning
if it's attainable
or worthwhile.
I was the honor roll student,
Employee of the Year,
Humanitarian of the Month--
the model citizen.
My world of restrictions,
political correctness,
laughing at corniess,
punctuality,
suit-wearing,
people pleasing
seem purposeless—
too complicated.
I want to arrive late,
wear jeans to work,
vent liberally,
and say no
without guilt –
become a rebel
for once in my life,
even just for a day.
I want to care less
of others' opinions
and fear less
of being labeled
non-conforming or edgy.
I want to be free
for once in my life,
even just for a day.

| i can relate to this 100 percent i think is how you're raised but then like you said you want to be a rebel and then when you change a little people start to judge but that's okay you have to live for yourself but your the only one that can really sate your soul from the decisions that you make |
