Come Home Early
~
Can you come home early?
I heard him say.
A pleading heart,
In the middle of the day.
~
Please Daddy,
I heard him cry.
And I answered him,
With a big old sigh.
~
Pretty soon,
My little one.
I can hardly wait,
To have some fun.
~
Now dry your eyes,
And have no fear.
It won’t be long,
Until Daddy is there.
~
I hung up the phone,
And cracked a smile.
From the best invitation,
I’d had in a while.
~
I put down my pen,
For I had to run.
To spend the rest of the day,
With my son.

This is something that every parent is able to identify with. I think I may be starting to fall back into that category of being 'too busy' again. Thank you so much for the reminder of what is really the most important things in my life.
*smiles*
