Mary Jane Died Today

Mary Jane has died today
Locked up in her room
She wouldn't let her mother in
She knew it would be soon

Her eyesight was growing poorer
She could barely walk
She curled up in a corner
And refused to talk

The Rapture was coming
This she knew
She was going crazy
This was true

The tears rolled down her cheeks
Her vision was now blurred
She'd never gotten to trick-or-treat
And her parents were divorced

She'd never had a boyfriend
And never expierienced love before
Never tried drugs before
She wouldn't know breathing anymore

Her parents didn't love her
They hated each other
She had no close friends
She'd never had a brother

She cried as she slipped the note on her dresser
She cried as she slipped over and unlocked the door
She cried as she slipped the noose 'round her neck
She cried as she stood up on that small chair
But when she stepped off she cried no more

Her mother heard a crash
She ran to the room
She brought her hand to her lips
And she ached through and through

She turned her head from the body
And glanced at the dresser
And saw the small paper
As she read the words she fainted
Her perfect daughter's life was tainted

A few moments later the mother was gone too
The rapture had happened
Just as it had been forseen to
And Mary Jane was dead

Mother-
Nobody loves me.
I'm too young to die.
I don't understand.
This is the only thing that seems to make sense.
Good-bye.
-Mary Jane

You write so much about death. Is death what you want for your life?

yeah you write about death but some times death is the only thing that we can be sure will come for us someday
