Rebel against Rebel

Contributed by ShaBa on Sunday, 4th June 2006 @ 12:18:42 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

I rebel against the rebels, turn rock to rubble
With bombs that are strung by chords
And released on light that hit so hard
The footprints next to you were carved by water
Millions of years to learn that our father
Doesn’t live in heaven, but was the one
Who put sperm in the egg and released us from death
Our mother was not a virgin
She spread her legs and incubated our learning
We walk free from strings
But still run with scissors because they said so
So turn them the other way and let go
Force feed your self the knowledge
Tuning in to what you feel
Turning out to what is real
Dropping out of the rat race
And set your own pace
Ask questions first to quench that thirst
You know you’re human so why say no
This is all we got, our words, our thoughts
This is what sets us apart
It’s our world and our bombs
What you take for granted isn’t granted to you
So realize what you have
Breathing only takes one button to stop
So every breath should be your last breath
Before you drop.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
