My life has been full of ups and downs,
A place for idiots, fools and clowns,
A place of grief , and also dread,
Its time to put these things to bed,
So what now, you may think,
Has the girl gone mad, or on the brink,
"No" she replys, I have finally awoken,
From an endless sleep, that should be broken,
Its time for me to take stock,
And open the door that was locked,
To start again , and start to be,
The person that I know is me,
To be sociable, and go out again,
To start afresh , yes! and make new friends,
Too long have I been on my own,.
Stuck inside my little home,
Scared by the past and all its woes,
Frightened away by unseen foes,
A shadow of herself it seems,
Whose only escape was in her dreams,
So now I grasp life with both hands,
And know that others will understand,
Life is too short to hide away,
So thats why my new life will start today

The therapy of personal covenants in poetry is a way I've often avoided "professional" therapists! It's really great to capture past perceptions reviewed and remolded to the now. Ya done it here, sue! Great write!
