TEA
Tea is fine, and a natural disinfectant. It is a good colourant for
clothing. It has astringent properties. So drink up, friends, and pour
one for me, too.
TOUCH AND LOVE
Reach out, touch me. Touch your brothers and sisters. We all need
touch. Oh yes, brothers. It is communication of love. It takes us back
to the big bang, when we were all one.
SEX
Sex is for lovers. Find that special someone, be it man or woman.
Exchange those hormones, and your pulse will race. And dance with the
dragon of desire.
TIME AND INFINITY
The celestial clock ticks on; listen !- tick tock, tick tock. Let's
hope it doesn't stop. Tick tock, tick tock. While you're sleeping,
time rearranges itself. It compresses our lives into a flat hat, full
of holes. Where time may escape. Watch out for these holes, my friend,
for life is too short to let it all run out of flat hat holes. Tick
tock, tick tock...
THE SEARCH FOR A LOVER
The search for a lover need not be fruitless. Look where you may- look
left, look right, but never look down at your worn out old shoelaces,
for they trigger feelings of worthlessness. You are worth more than
your shoes. Maybe you are not sure of your path in finding a lover.
But hear this- you have all the answers hidden inside the golden
feathers of the firebird. Love beats within your breast like the
eternal furnace of the sun. Answers are triggered by actions.
REVENGE
Many moons ago, a man I had called my friend stole my grandfather's
golden timepiece from my own hands. At first I shook my fists in
anger. My eyes bulged, and I turned to thoughts of revenge. I thought
of putting a dead fish in his shoes. I thought of setting fire to his
head. I thought of cutting down his sunflowers, and replacing them
with bamboo canes with car hubs attached at the top, painted yellow.
But soon I realised the folly of revenge. I discovered my friend had
needed to pawn the watch to get money to feed his starving family. I
asked myself, "what if I had acted in haste ? My friend might now have
fishy shoes, melted head, and be saddened by his garden flowers, and
all for nothing. It would be a friendship lost" And so I say to you,
brothers and sisters, if a man should hit a porcupine in a moments
anger, it will take him many moons to pull the spines from his fist.
THE NINE LIVES OF SIMON OF THE DESERT
Number 1.
Simon walked off a cliff. And lived ! But not for long.
Number 2.
Simon held his breath. For too long.
Number 3.
Simon forgot to eat.
Number 4.
When Simon of the Desert bought a horse, he went riding over the
mountains. And over the edge of the mountains and into a volcanic hole.
Number 5.
Simon ate poisoned beef.
Number 6.
Simon died of sunburn.
Number 7.
Simon tripped over a tree root and fell into an adder's nest.
Number 8.
Simon got hit by an asteroid.
Number 9.
Simon stayed indoors. And hoped for the best. As we all do. In many
ways, there's a little of Simon in all of us.
FIRE
Fire is untameable. It is to be respected. It is one of the four
elements and is your friend and your foe. It is your friend when it
cooks your food and lights your way in the dark. It is your friend
when it warms you, your family, friends and relations on the cold
nights of Winter. But it is your foe when you don't honour it with
oxygen and wood. It is your foe when it burns down your house, your
friends house, your families and relations houses. So remember this;
'fire, fire, burn bright and warm, but not when you are burning my
house'.
EGO
me me me ! That is the voice of the ego. It is fine if there is
balance. But do not let your ego get its own way all the time,
especially when money is involved. You may find yourself bankrupt of
money and spirits.
