When I am broken and betrayed,
And weeping away my dreams
To my heart she gives utterances of Spring,
And I don’t recall a thing
If life seems too difficult,
And I am letting go of all care
She sings Summer to my pain,
And I am healed again
While I dwell on mistakes and regrets,
Feeling bitter and aloof
She paints Autumnal colours around my soul,
And once more I am whole
Should I become enamoured with myself,
Imperious and self-possessed
She whispers Winter in my ears,
And I am humbled by my fears
At times I forget the moon in my blood,
And the sun and stars of my bones
But Mother Earth, with her seasons
Gently reminds me of life’s lessons.

Good poem, Spike. I like the use of mother nature and the four seasons here.

The Great Mother has many lessons to teach if we would just listen. I loved this poem, thanks for sharing.

Nature definitely has a way of reminding us of our somewhat insignificance.
Enjoyed this one very much. |
