If you never knew me
This thought runs through my head
You would be safe
Not laying beside me dead

If you never saw me
Your mind would still be clear
I have always said you deserved better
I am no beauty my dear

If you never held me
I would die without knowing your embrace
And you would have found comfort
With one who didn’t have my face

If you never loved me
I would have never loved a soul
You would not have died this young
And left my heart with this hole

If I never knew you
You would still be alive
Now picturing this life without you
I know I cannot survive
