The letter
Keep me shackled up ,why don't you,
keep your promises to yourself,
Keep the broken china on the bureau,
Just like me left on the shelf,
Keep a diary to remind yourself,
Of the days you won't be home,
I'll be waiting in my dressing gown,
Hair dirty,unkempt ,uncombed,
Will you be there when I wake up,
Will you make up some excuse,
About the road being blocked for hours,
Because a flock of sheep broke loose,
When I finally confront you,
Will you admit it or just lie,
Will you try to beat me up again,
Or start trembling and cry,
But tomorrow is a new day,
And the dawning of a new me,
I will escape all this misery,
And become what I should be,
A person in my own right,
A rose which again will flower,
Not the sad and frightened person,
Who you held within your power,
So I won't be here tomorrow night,
I will be far away you see,
So if you decide to come home,
You'll have to make your own tea,
I won't be coming back,
I won't even let you tempt me,
For the love I once had for you,
Is now running on empty,
You turned me into nervous wreck,
You are lower than a snake,
You cheated ,beat and abused me,
But at last I have made the break
