The Void in Me

Contributed by ButchCorpuz on Tuesday, 30th May 2006 @ 10:55:44 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Take a look inside my heart and you will find
An infinite hollow space hiding behind
This mask, this pretension of being happy
And begin to see an entire life so empty
I knew these countless empty days have come
Since that day when you gave me my freedom

Now the world seems nothing but empty space
Ever since that day when we parted ways
I tried hard to devoid myself of emotion
Hoping to clear these clouds of confusion
Crying and breaking away from everything real
Until emptiness is all that I feel

I got what I want and I should be glad
Yet beneath the emptiness, I still feel sad
I needed only freedom, not seclusion
Wondering if I made the right decision
When I hastily chose to let you go
The answers I seek I may never know

Coming back is futile for I’m too late
I’ll savor this emptiness and accept my fate
And spend life grieving for a love long gone
Still, deep inside I know you’re the one
The only one whom life is worth spending for
Now there is only emptiness, nothing more.

Awwww this is terribly heartbreaking, Butch... I wish you weren't hurting so much.
We as poets know....pain always seems to bring out the best in our writing....

Hugs
Jenni

This was deep.. I am sorry that so much heartache and pain is hurting you but that is what helps us go on what makes us stronger sometimes.. I only hope that this love you have for her stays true and positive.. Great poem..

Take care
christina

Oh Butch you are suffering the pain of loss.
Know that you only have to go through this trial of keenly feeling loss. Love is eternal, and even if circumstances call for a separation, it does its work and is never lost.
How marvellous are your below lines:

"I'll savor this emptiness and accept my fate"

That is all you need to do - "acceptance."
Acceptance of what is given us in time at a given moment. for a reason.
Your love is not wasted. No love is ever wasted. Emptiness is the precondition for new "FILLING"
Beatifully penned poem of heart ache that at one time or another all have to go through.
Be comforted Butch!
Elizabeth
Blessings

Heartbreak can tear us apart. This we all know too well.

She taught you how to be free, now stay with that freedom, do not let it go. Smile and be free to remember that gift.
