Walk Away

The air is cool
My breath I see
I’m waiting for you
To come back to me.
I sit at the window
My eyes are dry
Wondering how
You could possibly lie.
You promised me
It would be alright
“I won’t get hurt”
“I’ll win this fight”.
You turn your back
And walk away
I call for you
“If you love me, stay”.
You walked by me
My heart you tore
But I’ll still love you
Forever more.
I waited long
The nights I’ve cried
The letter home
Inside I died.

I can see why it won, very nice. You capture many deep emotions in very simple words. |

Simply put. Very deep and well written. Great job! No wonder it won. |
