He had my mother's maiden name.
Since his death in 1987, television hasn't been the same.
He was born in Canada in 1915.
The man I'm talking about is none other than Lorne Greene.
He deserved the fame he worked so hard to earn.
He starred on a science fiction show and on a western.
When he died, it was very bad.
A nation missed him and became extremely sad.
Greene died from pneumonia after he had heart surgery.
He worked hard so we could have such great shows on TV.
He starred in Alpo commercials and I wish he was still alive.
What would he be doing today if he would've survived?

Nice remembrance of Lorne Greene. Its funny how the old TV inflences are soon forgotten. When was the last time a Dam Good Western, was made ? A real,cowboy, shhootem up movie! Dang if the Movie Forgotten was a effort -well nice try. The true Cowboy and peace makers of the west are finally sunk.Gone and buried most . But you my young friend Good enuff to remind us of the better times. Personally I still watch the old series on DVD. I liked the man too :-)

Oh I just adored this man and his sons on Bananza.... and this was a wonderful tribute to him. Thank you for the lovely memories..

Given he would be 91, I'd say sucking lunch through a straw in a nursing home, but hey I loved that deep sonorous voice in Bonanza and he was great as Adama in Battlestar Gaylactica.
Randy, you write the best dedication poetry on the site- always intersting and moving. keep it up.
